How to convert a PDF to PDF/A

Will my text stay selectable?

Usually. A page that cannot be made compliant, for example because of its fonts or transparency, is saved as an image of about 150 dpi.

What is removed?

JavaScript and automatic actions are always removed. Attachments are removed too, except on PDF/A-3b.
